Day One

We met at 12.30 in The Pagoda Henry Street Liverpool. A translation class was taking place in the office so we sat in the main hall  and talked about the residency drinking English tea and what we would like to happen during our unexpected stay here.

In the hall the two apprentices set up a table for us to sit at. When the translation class ended we moved in to The Office. A Zumba class took over the main hall. We closed the door and they danced to music turned down low because we were filming. In the Office the two apprentices set up a table for us to sit at.

We set up a camera and a tripod and moved the table to an area with a more aesthetically pleasing background despite being in the way of everyone who needed to get in to the filing system.

As artists we feel we have lost creative direction recently, we have been questioning the time spent applying for funding and filling in forms vs. the time spent writing lyrics, painting or making film and sound works. The Office in the Pagoda will give us space to improve our creative development and just around the corner in Fleet Street, Urban Splash are giving us the opportunity to improve our professional development.
